Press Release Summary: MAJOR CELEBS AND SINGERS GATHER TO SUPPORT
CENTRAL AMERICAN HOSPITAL

Press Release Body: (SEATTLE, WA)-In an unprecedented effort to raise funds for a
Guatemalan hospital, seventy of the world's most popular recording artists,
including members of Matchbox Twenty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Peter Frampton and the
Wallflowers, have joined forces on 2008's American Hotel-a compilation of powerful
tunes performed with the soulful new world vagabond, Mike Brown. But, they aren't
the only ones trying to make a difference.

"These artists are contributing their talents in an effort to rebuild a hospital in
Santiago Atitlan Guatemala, for the Tzutijil Mayan community," said Gary Garner,
author of the breakout book Through the Eyes of Madness. "My efforts are focused on
education and medical training for the same community."

Garner's charitable work doesn't end with the Guatemala project. He has also been
focusing his attention on helping families in Africa and Asia, to assure that their
children will receive an education and appropriate school supplies including meals.

For the past five years, Garner has literally been homeless and jobless, and more or
less without material possessions. He's traveled around the world, living amongst
tribes in remote villages, in search of a simpler life.

"I was amazed by the generosity I received throughout my travels," says Garner.
"Families with barely enough food to feed themselves often offered me-a total
stranger-half of what they did have."

The author's experience motivated him to write what critics are calling the most
ingenious adventure book ever written, and to use a portion of the proceeds to
benefit families around the world.

While roaming each of the seven continents, he experienced:
. Witnessing a brutal murder on the South China Sea
. The wrath of an angry mob in the midst of a Nepalese civil war
. His own near-death experience at the heights of Mt. Everest
. Being ambushed and robbed in Costa Rica by very unusual suspects
. Countless other harrowing escapes that illustrate valuable and moving life lessons

"The causes that this book will help support are more important to me than
anything," says Garner. "The whole purpose behind Through the Eyes of Madness was to
let people buy something that they would enjoy and be inspired by, but at the same
time, make difference in the world."
